Welcome to Cayuga Images featuring photography by Dick Welch and Harriet Sutherland.

Many of our photos are taken in the Ithaca, NY and Finger Lakes region of New York State. We love taking photos of the beautiful waterfalls in our region many of which are located in the State and County Parks. Other photos of ours are taken during our travels no matter where that is.

Some of our most popular photos are available as composites where several photographs are arranged into either a vertical or horizontal strip. Our Composite Gallery includes images from all of our other categories. You are able to design your own custom composite using photos of your choice. Let us know what you like and we can make it happen.

Thanks for stopping by and we hope you enjoy our photographs.

Clicking any image will take you to its representative gallery page. Go directly to a specific gallery by clicking on the Photo Galleries menu at top of page. The Composites gallery includes photos from all of our other categories.

About the Photographers

Photography has been a life-long interest for both Dick and Harriet along with their careers as a Kodak engineer, and an educator and school administrator. They both have won many awards with their photography and have exhibited their images on a local and national level. While at Kodak, Dick was an active participant in the Kodak Camera Club and taught several courses including Advanced Color Printing.

Photography became more than an avocation in 1986 when Dick started his own business, exhibiting his images at Art and Craft Shows. A common interest brought Harriet and Dick together, and after moving to Ithaca in 1996, they formed a partnership and renamed their business “Cayuga Images” in keeping with their new location. The Ithaca locale, one of the more picturesque areas of the Finger Lakes, has given them a chance to expand their photographic creativity with the many scenic opportunities in the area. When not out with his camera, Dick spends much of his time in the studio, making prints and matting and framing the images. Harriet is most active with her camera when traveling.

The images created by Dick and Harriet reflect their individual personalities. They share a common goal, that is to create a piece of artwork that will be a valued addition to someone’s wall decor. Often, their images are mistaken for watercolor paintings. They are flattered when this happens because this is in keeping with their goal.

Our publication and exhibit credits include: Fingerlakes Magazine, Sierra magazine; Life in the Fingerlakes Magazine; Upstate Living Magazine; numerous annual reports; a cover on a local phonebook; and a permanent exhibit of 20 large photographs in the new wing of the Cayuga Medical Center.
